Laid out like one of those 'Idiot Guides' which I find very helpful because of how clear they make a subject. This book is divided up with an introduction to riding, a definition of terms, and the benefits of equitation.1. An Introduction to Balanced Riding2. Why ride? Motivators and Philosophy3. Everything you need to ride, show and buy your horse. There are even boxes for things like 'judges scorecard', which can tell you why a judge scored they way the did, 15 Questions to ask yourself before deciding on an instructor, questions for the instructor, diagrams for courses, along with so many pictures that help you see exactly what the author is trying to say. I really love this book and it's now my go-to book for any questions that come up from my riding lessons, and show prep.
