I always look forward to the release of every new Roberta Kagan book! This newest book downloaded onto my Kindle this morning and I just finished it. Now I have to wait for the next one. Sigh. I am a Christian and for decades I have had a deep love for the Jewish people. It started when I was a child and saw a photo in a magazine of a pile of naked, emaciated bodies in a concentration camp. I didn't even know what a Jew was. I didn't know the word "holocaust". I was horrified. I didn't understand. But I knew each of those poor dead people had a story. Over the years I've read various historical books, fiction and non-fiction, but nobody has come close to engaging me with the stories of the Jewish people of that era like Roberta Kagan. I read a lot. Leon Iris. James Lee Burke. Karin Slaughter. Jodi Picoult. Joel Rosenberg. Terri Blackstock. Sandra Brown. Lisa Gardner. Many more. Different genres. Roberta Kagan, however, is the only author whose new release dates are put on my calendar! You scored again, Roberta, with this new book today. I REALLY enjoyed.
